The ChristmasStar2012 is coming along... I started in August on a design that has been in the ol' head for couple years with the designing and stitching of the top.. Then the drawing and cutting of the homemade stencils.. Much of the center star was sewn using tape on the front side,,,
The it was flipped over and sections with curls and swirls were drawn onto the plain muslin and stitched there where I could see what I'm doing !!!
I use a #10 & #12 between needles for quilting.
I luv the back sides as much or more than the front sides !
I have 275 hrs in this quilt so far. and have moved now to the small snowflakes/stars on the edges.. These are very thick in places and I need to use pliers to pull the needle thru.... one stitch at a time.
Our October was a challenge and Our Thanksgiving was VERY Thankful !!
We had a good Thanksgiving with both my boys coming over for turkey.. Aaron helped get the tree up. Jake & Carson spent some time here and helped with the tree also. Carson is a Showman with sweeping arms and demoing just how things were hung so carefully.
............................ and he doesn't stand still !
and thennnn................... we turned ...... the lights... on......... 'ooooooooooItsBeautiful'....... he was in awe.

A nite with Carson
We had Carson here one nite recently........ We played with the Barn and its animals...
. Farmer Brown has a different kind of voice.......
Diva watched closely, almost near by..........
These wheels cover alot of ground...............
Then we went to the basement to unpack a box of movies with Grammpa....... found Schrek !
. found a monkey . he had a voice all his own too......
Then we had to help Grammpa hook up the VCR...........
Carson was very sure it needed Batteries !
. and some more 'work'...............
... monkey says it needs batteries too.. or some more tools.???
. so we measured things............
........ we found a wrench...............
..... maybe even a hammer...................
. If all else fails read the book !..................
after all that workin is done... skip the movie and snooze .................. zzzzzzzzzzzz

Laundry Room Fix Up
Tim & Jake removed a section of old cupboard to make room for the freezer.
I painted with a lively green called lettuce, Its not grammas pantry green LOLL. but its NOT neon green either. even if these pics do feel a bit a bright. I think it is more of a green apple color.
After moving the freezer to the other side of the room the built in ironing board is usable ... neat !
........ with a good scrubbing we are good to go !
Ill add some deco on the walls, and Tim painting a bench to sit on yet.
Next big job is the kitchen..........................
... and finally some deco on the walls ! Letters cut by the handy neighbor ( thank you Richard) a $1 placemat and $4 sign.
DONE!

Fall Projects
We worked this week on a BIG project.
We ripped out all the old plants, ugly rotten logs, trimmed trees and bushes.
It only took 5 days to fill the big dumpster! This will be an even better deal come next spring when we can plant Veggies ! I have dearly missed having a garden this year !
After all the heat and drought of summer we had a doozy of a storm, blowing over a big bush and taking out the phone line wire above. We cut the whole thing down ! This will let in more light for the large garden space in the corner. Tim transplanted several hostas and other plants closer to the house so this is space is usable now.
Shortly after we arrived I planted a few veggies. July 15 ! here it is Sept 15 and we have a few things growing ! Lets hold off the frost for a bit yet !
..... theres the herbys
................... see my pepper !
............ see my dandy digger !
and a pretty bit of color with plain old marigolds
... some green beans......... guess I need a stir fry for the harvest meal this year . LOLL
The MR and Mrs and a puppy ornament.
We changed out the mosquito pond for a bonfire pit
The Beast is parked for the winter.
My quilting is always in progress. This one has just begun and is a black, red, gold braid.
